Our Attorney General comes from the private sector, having amassed a wealth of experience spanning 23 years at the private bar, with both commercial law experience as well as litigation experience. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School. She is a member of the inner bar having been elevated to the rank Senior Counsel in January, 2014, and has appeared in lead cases before the Courts in Belize and at the Caribbean Court of Justice. She was entrusted by Prime Minister John Briceno to effect reforms in the judiciary and in the administration of justice in Belize and to be the government’s chief legal advisor, and she was sworn into office on the 16th day of November, 2020.
